Czech-born Radim Zenkl, who has been living in the USA since 1989, has established this musical group in 2005, to perform in the Czech Republic during his annual visits. They focus on Celtic music, folk, bluegrass, jazz and original tunes. They have performed at Czech festivals such as Beltine (Námešť nad Oslavou), Skotské hry (Sychrov), Jamboree (Strakonice), Gody (Liberec), and also in Lucerna (Prague) and individual concerts in Prague, Brno and Ostrava, and in TV show ‘Noc s Andělem’.

Radim Zenkl was born in Opava. In the early 80-ties he played in music bands Athabasca and Rozkol. In 1985 he started and lead Tyrkys, with which they won the national band competition Porta in 1988. Radim has moved to the United States in the summer of 1989. He has won the US mandolin championship held in Winfield, KS in 1992. Radim has recorded eight solo CDs, collaborated on more than sixty other CDs, and invented a masterful technique, the ‘Zenkl style,’ in which a single mandolin sounds like two. He has collaborated with the top musicians of the acoustic music scene such as Béla Fleck, Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Mike Marshall, Jerry Douglas, Stanley Jordan and more. During his first visit to Ireland in 1999 he also started playing the Irish whistle and later on many other ethnic flutes from around the world. He has performed all around the globe and also visits regularly the Czech Republic, where he has played with musicians and groups such as Druh&aac ute; tráva, Buty, Čechomor, Jiří Stivín, Vlasta Redl, Hradišťan, Bratři Ebenové, Vladimír Mišík, Karel Plíhal, Waldemar Matuška, Samson Lenk and in TV shows Gejzír, Na plovárně, Noc s Andělem and more.
