Gwalarn means in Breton northwest wind. The Celtic group of Gwalarn was founded in 1998 by Breton musician Yves Guélou after his arrival in the Czech Republic. Yves Guélou in the past played with a pioneer of world music – Alan Stivele, or with the famous Greek musician Mikis Theodorakis. The Group performing 15th years on the Czech music scene. Repertoire consists of Breton songs, singing in both; Breton and French language. Contemporary repertoire of the band gradually enriched by own composed songs and songs with a certain subject to moves on the edge of wordmusic. Breton, French and Irish traditional, but also some of the newly composed songs of Yves Guélou still forms the basic of the Repertoire of today's Gwalarn.
